Description
The Queensize Camper 2-Spray Aerator is a professional-grade tap accessory that transforms water flow with two distinct spray patterns. UK exclusive at Project Yonder, this precision-engineered aerator screws onto Queensize Camper tap spouts to provide both standard aerated stream and soft spray modes—reducing water consumption while maintaining excellent pressure perception. Essential for conserving precious water in campervan living while preserving the convenience of normal tap operation.
Technical Specifications:
- Type: 2-function aerator (stream + spray modes)
- Compatibility: Queensize Camper tap spouts (standard M24 or similar thread)
- Construction: High-grade polymer housing with stainless steel mesh screen
- Finish: 'Dark Edition' black aesthetic matches Queensize components
- Flow Modes:
- Standard aerated stream (mixed with air for volume perception)
- Soft spray pattern (gentle, dispersed flow)
- Flow Rate: Approximately 40-50% reduction vs. unrestricted flow while maintaining perceived pressure
- Swivel: 360° rotation capability for directional water control
- Installation: Hand-tighten onto tap spout thread (no tools required)
- Internal Screen: Removable for cleaning and descaling
Key Features:
- Dual Spray Modes: Switch between aerated stream (ideal for washing hands, filling containers, rinsing dishes) and soft spray (perfect for gentle rinse, washing vegetables, reducing splash)
- Water Conservation: Significantly reduces flow rate while air mixing creates perception of strong pressure—conserve water without sacrificing functionality
- 360° Swivel: Direct water flow exactly where needed without repositioning containers or items
- Easy Mode Switching: Simple lever, button, or rotation mechanism changes spray pattern (mechanism varies by model)
- Premium Construction: Durable materials resist limescale buildup better than cheaper alternatives
- 'Dark Edition' Finish: Sleek black aesthetic coordinates perfectly with Queensize Camper tap range
- Tool-Free Installation: Hand-tighten onto existing tap spout—no plumber required
- Universal Thread: Fits standard Queensize Camper taps and most taps with M24 or compatible threading
- Maintenance-Friendly: Unscrew for cleaning—keeps performance optimal
How It Works:
The aerator mixes air with water flow using precisely engineered internal chambers and screens. This air-water mixture creates the sensation of strong pressure while actually using significantly less water. The dual-spray functionality provides:
Stream Mode: Standard aerated flow—air mixed with water creates full-feeling flow at reduced volume. Ideal for everyday tasks like handwashing, filling kettles, rinsing dishes. Non-splash, focused stream.
Spray Mode: Gentle dispersed pattern—water breaks into soft spray. Perfect for washing delicate items (vegetables, fruit), gentle rinse applications, or reducing splash when water hits dishes in sink.
Switch between modes via the mechanism on the aerator face—typically a small lever that you slide or rotate, or a button you press.
The 360° swivel function allows you to angle water flow left, right, or straight—particularly useful in compact campervan sinks where you're working with limited space and may need to fill containers positioned at different angles.
Installation:
- Remove any existing aerator from tap spout by unscrewing counterclockwise (if applicable)
- Clean tap spout threads to ensure good seal
- Hand-tighten 2-Spray Aerator onto threads clockwise
- Turn on water and test both spray modes
- Adjust swivel position as desired for your typical use
- Check for leaks around thread connection
- If minor leaking, carefully tighten an additional quarter-turn (do not overtighten)
No thread tape or plumber's putty typically required—internal gasket provides seal.
Water Savings:
In typical campervan use, this aerator can reduce water consumption by 40-50% compared to unrestricted flow. For full-time campervan living or extended trips off-grid, this translates to:
- Fewer water tank refills required
- Extended boondocking capability
- Reduced grey water tank filling
- Lower water heating costs (less hot water used)
- All while maintaining comfortable water pressure sensation
Care & Maintenance:
Regular Cleaning (Monthly):
- Unscrew aerator from tap spout
- Disassemble if possible (separate housing from screen assembly)
- Rinse under running water to remove debris
- Brush screen gently with soft toothbrush to remove buildup
Descaling (As Needed - every 2-3 months in hard water areas):
- Remove aerator from tap
- Soak in white vinegar or descaling solution for 30 minutes to 2 hours
- Agitate gently to dislodge limescale deposits
- Rinse thoroughly with clean water before reinstalling
- If flow becomes restricted despite cleaning, replacement may be needed
Signs Replacement Is Needed:
- Persistent low flow even after descaling
- Damaged threads preventing proper installation
- Cracked or broken housing
- Mode switching mechanism no longer functioning
- Persistent leaking around base despite proper tightening
Applications:
Ideal for:
- Galley kitchen sinks in campervans and motorhomes
- Bathroom/wet room taps where water conservation matters
- Any application where maintaining pressure feel while reducing consumption is desired
- Off-grid living situations where water is precious
- Professional campervan conversions requiring quality finishing touches
The 2-Spray Aerator represents a simple but effective upgrade that pays dividends in water conservation without compromising the user experience. In campervan life where water management is crucial, this small component makes a significant practical difference.
